RTI / RVB

RTI  is the process used when a vehicle is Returned To the Insured, this can be for a number of reasons such as: Owner Request, Seller Request, Cancelled Claims, Cash for Cars request.

The RTI process is closely linked to the following Service Orders:

ORW - This is the Service Order added when a return request has been made.

RVB - This is the Service Order used to manage the return process.

ABD - This is the process used to manage vehicles that have been abandoned by the Policy Holder.

CAT A vehicles cannot be returned to the policyholder and communication should be made with the adjusters to have the vehicle cleared and crushed at Copart. Alternatively, the vehicle must go to an Authorised Treatment Facility for disposal.

OFFICE - Returned to Insured - CAT B

Upon receiving an instruction to return a CAT B vehicle, the appropriate contact from this list here. should be contacted via email, using the provided template found here.

During this time, Copart Direct can make an offer to purchase the vehicle, the return should not be arranged.

Only once a written response is received back from the adjuster, this should be uploaded as a Transmittal Document. Copart can proceed with the return of the CAT B vehicle to a non-registered Authorised Treatment Facility with a HWCN.

When vehicles are sold at the full sale amount paid but left on site without paying for storage, the Member should be contacted on day 21. The Member should be advised to pay the storage in full and collect the vehicle within 7 days, or we will dispose of the vehicle. If the vehicle is not collected within a week, then please end the Member Letter 3.

If there are any complaints upon Delivery, the Driver or Sub Hauler must report this to their Transport Manager. It is a requirement for RTI Images and Delivery Images to be captured for every vehicle. A release form should be signed for any lot which is collected to evidence the vehicle has been collected. This must then be uploaded onto the Lot as a Pickup Order along with any collection paperwork supplied by the transportation company.
